These races can be played with as few or as many of your friends as you want. You can play some of the games by yourself, by racing against the clock. For bigger groups, it is a good idea to choose a person to be a judge. The judge starts off a race by calling out "Ready, Set, Go!," watches to make sure the players are doing the races correctly, and judges who the winner is at the end.
Some races seem easier than they actually are. These are all toughies, but you won't believe me till you try them!
Use a crayon to write a different number from 1 to 12 in each little cup in the bottom of a cardboard egg carton. Place the prepared egg carton on the floor, four or five feet from the players.
Give each player six of a different object to toss. For example, one gets six buttons, the other six beans, the third pennies. The contestants than pitch their small objects into the egg carton. When an object lands (and stays) in a cup, the player who tossed it receives the number of points written on the bottom of that cup.
The first player to earn fifty points wins!
